Originally from New Zealand, Melinda brings her talent and passion for tattooing to Toowoomba. As owner of Rose & Thorn, she has built a studio that breaks away from the old tattoo-shop stereotypes: a calm, warm space where you're looked after from your first message to your final session.

Her aim is simple: you leave with a beautiful piece of art and a good memory of getting it.

From idea to design. From your first enquiry, Melinda works closely with you to bring your idea to life and make sure the design matches what you have in mind.

Honest advice. Realism needs space for detail, so she'll advise on size and placement for the best result now and in years to come.

Fine line. Melinda now focuses on large-scale realism, and has passed her fine line skills on to the team. For fine line, florals or script, book with any of our artists.

Medical tattooing. Melinda also does medical tattooing, including 3D areola tattoos and scar camouflage, through Body Toowoomba.

WHAT DOES IT cost?
Our studio minimum is $150. Melinda sets her own rates, and realism is quoted on size and detail, which also decides how many sessions your piece needs.

The deposit amount depends on your artist and the size of your tattoo, and it comes off the cost of your tattoo on the day.

How do I book with Melinda?
Fill out the booking form and choose Melinda as your preferred artist. Add your idea, size in centimetres, placement and reference photos.

Does Melinda still do fine line?
Melinda now focuses on large-scale realism and portraits. Every artist at Rose & Thorn is trained in fine line, so we'll match you with the right one.

How far ahead is she booked?
Our artists are usually booked out at least a couple of months in advance, so get your enquiry in early, especially for multi-session pieces.

Can she tattoo a portrait from my photo?
Yes. Send the clearest, sharpest photo you have and Melinda will advise on size and placement.
