Sammy's journey is intertwined with a lifelong passion for art and a deep desire to make a lasting impact on people's lives.
About Sammy
From the earliest of days, Sammy found solace and joy in the act of drawing. Her Nanna was a constant source of inspiration and guidance, and is the person who recognised her creative potential and nurtured it with unwavering support. Sammy's love for art continued to flourish throughout high school, where she eagerly explored various mediums and styles. Sammy knew deep within her heart that art was not just a fleeting passion but a lifelong calling to be pursued.
Like many of us, after graduating, life led Sammy into the world of office jobs, where she dedicated many years to developing a “professional career”. Yet, her passion for drawing and painting never waned. Even amid the hustle and bustle of office life, she found solace and fulfilment by always keeping a pencil or paintbrush close at hand. In the midst of her journey, fate intervened, introducing Sammy to the owner of Rose and Thorn and tattoo artist, Melinda. After witnessing Melinda's unwavering passion for her craft Sammy embraced a much-needed change and embarked on a new chapter as an apprentice tattoo artist at the highly revered Rose & Thorn Tattoo Studio.
She has since graduated in 2025 and is now an independent artist.
Career Goals and Aspirations
Rose and Thorn provided Sammy with the opportunity to learn the intricate workings of the tattoo industry, as well as exploring various techniques and tattoo styles under the guidance of her supportive mentor, studio owner, Melinda.
Sammy's draws inspiration from the natural world and is captivated by the challenge of capturing the realism and vitality of animals, birds, and people in her art. Eventually, Sammy's goal is to learn medical tattooing and help provide healing through her art.
Sammy's dedication and commitment to mastering these tattooing techniques are evident in every stroke.

Booking your Tattoo
Rose and Thorn Artists are extremely thorough.
They will ask you a series of questions and if they believe there is any confusion between the two of you - then they will book you in for a 15 minute consultation.
All our bookings require you to go through a routine booking form which will ask you specific questions about you & your tattoo to gain an idea of what you are after, if they are the right fit for the job, size, style etc. Once they have all the information they need, then they can give you a quote and also know how long the appointment will need to be.
